On the field, style refers to the way you play. From aggressive to technical oriented, each player brings a unique style to the game. When players are off the pitch, their attitude toward life is expressed through their clothes. Soccer girls bring a unique aspect of chic meets sensible. We looked at the biggest NWSL players to find out some of the styles that reflect female soccer players.
Tops
The possibilities with tops are endless and really depend on the event, season and personal style. Tops really make the outfit and brand the outfit for the occasion from formal to a fun night out to braving the ghastly weather. There are always a few go to’s though for everyone that make getting dressed easier.
The tank top tee is as iconic as any top out there is. It’s stood the test of time and functions as a comfy, casual night in to a formal casual. The versatile top presents a sportsy, chill attire and is especially perfect for those sporting events while it can be found in more formal styles for work or a night on the town. Don’t forget to bring a jacket for when things get cold with this top.
The button up is probably the next go to and covers a variety of styles from America’s beloved flannel to the dress shirt. It’s versatile enough to go with joggers and jeans and can really make the night out into a more formal wear despite the casual pants.

Pants
There are really only three must owns for a soccer girl style: Jeans, joggers and mid-thigh athletic shorts. While shorts make up the style on the pitch, jeans and joggers dominate the soccer girl’s style off. It makes for an easy day with less decisions, knowing you only have a couple of pant styles to choose from, and they match everything. Jeans are the easy going out with the girls or a date night with the boy. They may seem a little casual, but the right top will bring the outfit to a night out status.
#Ad After a crazy week, I love that Zach and I can still get date night in. He helped me choose this stylish #UniversalThread look from @Target and I finally have the date night denim that fits who I am.

Joggers are the go-to comfy clothing. They are perfect for every occasion and always fit perfectly. The best part is they’re always soccer ready. While sweats hang loosely around your ankles, joggers narrow as they extend, hugging your ankles perfectly so they stay where they are suppose to be.

Hats
The last key component to a soccer girl’s style is the hair piece. Soccer girls aren’t ones to pull their hair back with ribbons — unless it is for a great cause — or putting bows in their hair when heading out with friends. There’s not a lot of options when looking for a nice balance of girly and chill in the hair/head department, but hats have become the new best friend to soccer girls. From beanies to snapbacks to a baseball cap, NWSL stars love to don their favorite styles of hats, becoming one of the trademarks for several players like Julie Ertz and her beanies or Tobin Heath and snapbacks.
